Another succesful win for The Direct Planning Group
The appeal site is occupied by a large detached house, the rear garden of which backs onto the Grand Union Canal. The Appeal againist Ealing Council's refusal was for the retention of a very large existing conservatory in Shaftesbury Avenue, Southall, Middlesex.
The planning Inspector found that;
the proposal would not harm the character and appearance of the surrounding residential area, or conflict with UDP Policies
4.1, 5.5 or 5.9, which respectively deal with design of development, residential
design and extensions and alterations to private houses and gardens. Nor do I
find any material conflict with the Councilâs SPD.
13. No conditions have been suggested, and none is necessary.
14. For the reasons given above I conclude that the appeal should be allowed.
